The unmistakable hallmark of the JANUS collection is the black blade - symbol of the highest quality and functionality thanks to the finishing with the high-quality DLC technology (Diamond-Like-Carbon). As a special coating for the highest stress, it optimizes the functional properties of the blade. The carbon coating, which is only a few micrometers thick, is insensitive to acids, bases and extreme temperatures and is characterized by low friction values and enormous scratch resistance. This makes the Janus series a hand-flattering piece of work for the discerning.
A single cut is enough
No sawing and fraying of the food. The distinctive knife tip glides over the plate, while the cutting edge cuts the food precisely and effortlessly. A pleasure even before the food reaches the mouth.
The handle, without visible rivets and screws, immaculately finished by hand - is a real hand-pleaser and perfects the experience.
Sustained sharpness thanks to special blade shape - even on porcelain
A specially selected for the purpose, particularly hard steel - for exceptionally high and long-lasting sharpness. A blade shape specially designed for cutting on porcelain. Only the tip of the blade is in contact with the substrate, so the cutting edge remains sharp for a very long time and a serrated edge is not necessary. This is the only way to achieve clean cuts.

Care Instructions
The distinctive feature of the JANUS series is the black DLC coating on the blade. Diamond like Carbon refers to a pure carbon layer that is created in a very complex process. Carbon atoms are shot onto the blade surface and form a hard, black layer of pure carbon that is chemically inert. This makes the blades of the Janus series not only visually special, but also technically. They have a higher surface hardness and are completely resistant to acids, salts and other chemical influences.
Abrasives such as silicon carbide are often used in household cleaning sponges. These are capable of damaging the DLC coating. Therefore, generally do not use cleaning agents that contain abrasives. A damaged coating no longer protects against corrosion.
